I came to a realization recently while doing some meditation and study on two men.
King Leonidas and Gideon
One was the King of Sparta.
The other was a common clansman from Isreal.
One had military training
The other was a rookie
One was a ‘somebody’
The other was a ‘nobody’
But they both had one thing in common.
They had 300 brave men to go with them into battle.
One lost the battle.
The other won the battle.
One lost all his men.
The other lost none of his men.
Strange isn’t it? Well it may not be strange to everyone. Some of you know the reason why. If you don’t know the reason why, check it up here.
Then check up their stories in the links below.

300 movie
the God factor?
ReplyDeleteNice analogy!
ReplyDeleteNever really finished that film, 300.
Might go back and take a look.
Gideon had to win 'cos God was on his side. in the end, i think that's what really counts.
With God, impossible is nothing. I loved the story of 300 though.
ReplyDelete300 is one my favorite all time movie! Talk about loyalty.
ReplyDeleteInteresting!
ReplyDeleteI never thought about both of them that way!
300 was a very interesting movie, I felt bad they lost, even though it was commendable they went down still fighting...
but like Bagucci said, its the God factor!
Courage, determination, vision, and all the good attributes motivational people teach us ( would help us make it in life) are good, but the God factor is the only thing that guarantees victory and success.
The bible says 'the hose is prepared for battle, but VICTORY IS OF THE LORD'
and boy! I love that scripture ' God choose the very foolish things of the world to really shame the wise!
Yes oooooo, the G-factor is it anyday!
Hmm, that's some good comparison u know, tnxs for sharing, never realized how much they both had in common
ReplyDeleteJesus makes all the difference!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog and leaving a comment. I look forward to getting to know you.

ReplyDeleteI actually thought Leonidas was a fiction taken from Gideon's story. But I love this write-up.

@Maxine…thanks for respomding!
@David C Brown…I knew you’d understand it. well said.
@Tigeress…you’re welcome. May it stick in ur memory…lol
@Dr Otefe…Leonidas actually existed although the movie exaggerated some facts about the Spartans but most of the story is true
This is a lovely analogy...no doubt God was on Gideon's side...
