I love this write-up on my pregnant colleague's blouse, I had to just snap it.

Just in case you can't see it, it reads:

Very Creative!

Blog Review for Today - ARCHIWIZ

I have a younger brother who is an architect and one thing I've noticed about him and many other architects is the fact that their profession (just like mine) has to do with a lot of creativity, and there's the tendency for that creativity to spark off on other areas of their lives. That probably explains why Archiwiz's blog is the way it looks (She's an architect, actually).

Archiwiz's blog is something different to your eyes. Apart from the fact that she made her entries brief, simple and precise, (which according to certain principles makes reading a blog interesting) she makes her entry in a way not too common on blogospshere...she writes her blog rather than type them!

For those who probably can't guess how that's done, its with the Lenovo tablet PC which enables her to write on the screen rather than type it.

But then anybody could decide to pick one up and start tablet-blogging so that's not the only reason why I find her blog interesting. Actually it's because she does these interesting cute little illustrations in her entries and she mixes ink colors in such a way that your eyes get a lot of eye-candy instead of a monotonous bland font type. Another plus is the fact that she's got a legible handwriting which is a refreshing departure from the stiff fonts you get from the computer.

Archiwiz'z blog is reader friendly and not busy like some other blogs. Simplicity is the most friendly status that could make a blog pleasant to read and this blog achieves that.

Archiwiz employs a lot of creativity when making most of her entries, especially the ones with photo's attached to them. She literarily 'designs' the entry (a spark from the profession?) and it turns out to be beautiful. And she's got an advantage because of this habit - she can make a boring post a delightful read! Someone is definitely thinking out of the box as per blogging.

I like archiwiz's blog. Its like a refreshing 'something' for my eyes.

Crazy Thinking

When you think out of the box, you come up with real interesting stuff.

People who think out of the box usually revolutionize things and give us another view of things like we've never seen them before. Its called creativity. But not all ideas are easily acceptable, yet no idea is totally useless. Check out these out-of-the-box ideas and creations...

A door handle that's friendly...get a handshake as you come in.

Okay...now this idea is waay crazy! A door handle made to look like shit...the idea was to give the rest room an identity that makes it easy for visistors to locate...Ha!

It looks like someone chopped off that cable but actually that's a 2 Gig USB flash storage drive! Interesting.

Lillian Ladele - A Shining Example

Its amazing how in a world that's been proliferated and corrupted with all manner of abominations against nature and what is proper, you still have people who maintain not just thier integrity but their belief ib that which is right.

Such is the story of Lillian Ladele the Christian registrar who refused to carry out gay weddings in the UK. Lillian was harassed and discriminated against after she refused to carry out same-sex civil partnership ceremonies yet she doggedly stood her ground and refused to violate the act of abomination against God's laws which man has taken and legalised.

Lillian's act has generated so much controversy that is reminiscent of the days of the famous black american lady, Rosa Parks who refused to seat in a segregated area in a bus during the segregationist periods of the 60's.
She also reminds me of strong women such as Dora Akinyuli and Chris Anyanwu who braved the odds when it seemed all around them was against them.

Lillian's doggegness paid off when she won the courtbattle over this case. The telegraph news described her victory as 'a landmark discrimination battle'.

This ordinary woman has demonstrated the extra-ordinary by just standing for what she believes and God's laws.  Its amazing how doing the right thing can end up turning you into a controversy celebrity. I have to say I'm happy she stood her ground and I'm also proud for the fact that she's a Nigerian. Who says we can make waves around the globe?

Lillians story proves a number of things:
  1. No matter where you are, you can make a difference and win as long as you stand your ground.
  2. When what you stand for is what God stands for, you will always win in the end.
  3. Your steadfastness will cause others to wake up from their slumber and take a stand

I guess Romans 12:2 is a very relevant scripture in this case.

What will your kid(s) be doing?

Some time back in march I wrote entries about what we expose our kids to (Click here and here to view them). I was shocked one day when I received a set of paparazzied pictures circulating the net showing how profound the effect of bad stuff on Tv and among careless adults can affect a kid. Some of you may have seen this pictures in your mail but just in case you haven't, take a look at them. They are 4 year olds and they were caught by a surveillance camera...

Isn't  it Alarming?

Watermelon Does the Same Work As Viagra?

I guess we are too pre-occupied on junk and artificial food that we've forgotten the natural ones which can actually save our lives from different ailments. Its amazing the things fruits and veggies do for us and yet we take them for granted. I won't be surprised if the cure for terrible diseases such as AIDS comes from a simple neglected and forgotten plant. I came across this interesting piece on Watermelon recently.

A cool, juicy watermelon is a refreshing fruit for many. However, watermelons may have the same effect as Viagra, a drug used to treat erectile dysfunction.

Watermelons have an ingredient called citrulline that could trigger the production of a compound that relaxes the body’s blood vessels, which is also what happens when a man takes Viagra.

Scientists in Texas say that citrulline reacts with the body’s enzymes when consumed in large quantities and is then changed to arginine, an amino acid that benefits the heart and circulatory systems.

"Arginine boosts nitric oxide, which relaxes blood vessels, the same basic effect that Viagra has, to treat erectile dysfunction and maybe even prevent it," said Bhimu Patil, a researcher and director of Texas A&M's Fruit and Vegetable Improvement Center. "Watermelon may not be as organ-specific as Viagra, but it's a great way to relax blood vessels without any drug side effects."

However, some researchers say that anyone taking Viagra shouldn’t expect the same results from watermelon.

Incredible isn't it? Read more about it here

Well, what can I say? It looks unbelievable that a simple watermelon might be Nature's viagra.
Years ago, a Nigerian Doctor claimed he cured AIDS with herbs but the scientific world discredited it on some unclear grounds. Is it because it did not involve chemicals or because an african made such discovery?

I believe its not impossible for the cure to many of our ailments to be found in nature's edibles surrounding us.

Here's a video that showcases some astonishing truths we never knew, no thanks to junk food and all that artificial crap that we fill ourselves with.

What can I say? Lets eat more of Nature's edibles and stay alive and healthier!

The Sex You Thought You Knew 3

CONCLUSION...

I probably would have gone on to say more but I think I better conclude it here since the subject is becoming unbearable for some folks. But no matter what we think, the truth will always be there. And it can be damn bitter

I don't think porn stars always lived happy lives. They were plagued by guilt demons and besides the sex pre-occupated profession (which is a wrong thing that society has embraced) isn't a honorable thing to be proud of. Linda Lovelace, a former porn star who dropped the profession and campaigned against it was a typical example.

Picture this:
A Dude or girl who always has sex with someone they’re not married to. After each act, they get this guilt trip and smoke a cigarette – which is an act well known to take place after it’s done. Whenever it bugs them, a ciggy calms 'em down. (Cancer)

From time to time, self-worth depreciates with each sex they have and they take alcohol and drugs to keep ‘body and soul’ together. (Drug overdose)

If the drugs don’t kill them, probably the alcohol will – in a car crash; driving under the influence. (Automobile accident)

If an accident doesn’t do the job, depression will. Depression as a result of self condemnation which comes from loosing self worth. The urge to end it all gets strong and very attractive. (Suicide)

It may not happen in any of these ways but whatever the case may be, there’s always a price to pay when you abuse what nature or better still God, has given us. Every machine comes with a manual and once you don’t get it right you’re bound to destroy it.

Some lies you'll hear about sex and Porn:
  • Sexual freedom = happiness
  • Perverted sex (homosexual sex, incest, BDSM, etc) is more enjoyable than "normal" heterosexual sex
  • There are no consequences to sexual promiscuity
  • Sexual expression is a right, not a God-given or God-defined gift
  • You can live a healthy life with the porn images floating around in your mind
  • Porn doesn't harm anyone
  • Sex is something to be done primarily for self gratification
  • The porn stars are the happiest people on earth
  • Adults can view porn without any lasting side effects
  • Porn will help your sex life
  • Porn is just a harmless thing that everybody looks at

If you agree with me check out this link. If you don't just leave it alone and keep living life the way you want it. -->
Lies & Truths About Sex

There's also the spiritual aspect of Sex that has to do with sex spirits (i discovered this out of experience and research as well as through scripture) but I wont go into that. Unless by popular request. Its quite scary and revealing.
** Remember...What you don't know can harm you

Like I said earlier, you might arm yourself against STDs but nothing can save you from this one unless…

…YOU LET GO AND LET GOD!

Okay, let the crucifiction begin...

The Sex You Thought You Knew 2

Sorry once again for another long break. I just came thru an episode which I promise to share in the following post next to this. But for now I want tocontinue on the the last post entry about SEX.

Like I said in the last post, you might arm yourself against STDs but nothing can save you from this one unless…(I’ll fill in the blank later).

I was surfing Youtube and I came across this absurd compilation of a tribute to dead porn stars. I was baffled that porn could have highly devoted fanship (if there’s ever a word like that!). Out of curiosity I decided to check out the dead stars and what killed them as chronicled in the movie slideshow. I realized something startling…

Toggle this: Each time you have a sexcapade, remember that feeling you get after the whole show?
For guys, it’s probably that feeling that makes you wanna get rid of the lady quickly because all of a sudden you get this pang of guilt for what you’ve done. We all go through it but some folks have gotten used to it.
For ladies its that feeling that makes you feel cheap and used and at some point afraid that you might have lost hold of something important to you. You question yourself as to why it happened.

And funny enough, after time passes, you feel like having that sex with that person again or anyone else. It goes with the same principle of the lion that gets to taste human flesh by accident. Once a lion that’s been used to eating antelopes, gazelles etc, gets a taste of human flesh, it becomes a human eater and will always long for human flesh. That’s how it is with sex. When you get to do it once, after time passed you’ll want to do it again, most especially with the person you did it with.

One thing most people don’t realize is that SOMETHING MORE THAN JUST AN ORGASM happens when you have sex with another person. After the sex, you get a certain feeling which many may refer to a pricking conscience, most especially if it was sex out of wedlock. For some, this feeling is totally ignored because they’ve turned the sex into a routine act and a need that must be met.

From time memorial, nature has presented us with its numerous gifts but as humans we have destroyed these gifts by abusing them and the consequences are drastic. Global warming, extinction of animals, nasty floods, storms, tsunamis, the appearance of crazy kinds of diseases to mention a few are the end results of our abuse of nature. The abuse of Sexual intercourse also has its own deadly rewards.

Out of 123 Porn stars listed between the 80s and 2000s;
43 died of AIDS,
20 of suicide,
16 of different types of cancer,
13 of automobile accidents,
12 of drug overdose,
7 of heart failure,
4 of brain illnesses.

Now heres my observation...

To be finally concluded...

The Sex You Thought You Knew

Hey y’all!!
I’m so sorry for the break in blog-mission. It was due to some things that are putting me in full gear in terms of preparation.

I’ve been wanting to blog about something very important that affects everyone of us. You know what it is? It SEX. I know a topic like these interests many peeps.

I was surfing the ever loaded channels of Youtube in search of both useful and useless information; useful information because of its usefulness, useless information because you can get sense out of nonsense.

In my search I came across this channel of some dude who did a four-part tribute to dead Porn Stars. I thought it was rather absurd. That’s my opinion anyway ‘cause who knows, maybe porn stars have dead serious devoted fans out there. But since I’m not a stickler for porn, it remains absurd.

I would have actually skipped the channel and gone on to something else but something caught my attention. It gave away a scary revelation that I felt I should share. What I’m about to tell you all aint new. Some of you might be aware of it but you may not be aware that you are actually aware that you are aware of it. They usually say what you don’t know won’t hurt you but the truth is that what you don’t know could kill you.

Sex is the highest level of emotion that any living being gets to attain; it’s more than just two bodies cavorting ecstatically between the sheets. But most of us don’t know anything beyond that and think there’s nothing more than that. But like I said, what you don’t know could kill you.  Am I talking about STDs? No. Its way more than that because STDs you can arm yourself against but this one, you can't.

To be continued....

Blog Review For Today - Naapali

From the info page to the blog pages, Naapali struck me as some shaman or internet sage of some sort.
His blog is simple but has this look that strikes you with the feeling that you are about to go into the depths of a deep spiritual and philosophical mind. The Mysticism is interesting and engaging.
Naapali’s interest and use of rich art murals which adorn his page and avatar space are elements that reflect the nature of the blog’s owner: a lover and devotee of the arts.

But those are not the only things you’ll notice when reading Naapali’s blog.

The depth of knowledge, the artistic virtuoso of narration, the powerful metaphoric allusions, the richness in choice of words and strength of entertaining semantics makes Naapali’s blog a delightful read.
The strong sense of intellectual reasoning is unmistakable. When Naapali narrates a story, you are compelled not to only be entertained but to also look for a take-away message because you’ll somehow sense that there’s much more between the lines than what you see and read.
When you read Naapali’s entry, you are taken into the depths of an unusual mind. Its always very possible to be both entertained and educated on Naapali’s entries with all the allusions he makes now and then to historical facts, biological facts, and all manner of educative facts and references.

I would have gone ahead to say Naapali’s blog only appeals to the intellectual mind but that would be a misnomer because even a non-intellectual mind can be carried along as well. It’s a classic example of intellectualism rendered with simplicity (I hope you get what I mean). The creativity and thinking is outstanding (check out his Second Floor Macy's series). I’m inspired by this blog to fully resurrect my writer’s skills into full swing.

Undeniably. Naapali’s blog is a blog I will always enjoy reading. That’s why it made my list.

kush chronicles 101

Okay, I have been hearing complaints about my comment section on my blog. Most people dont know how to work it. So here's a simple tutorial on how it works. I hope y'all get it.

When you open my comments page, this is what you see. At first it looks as if all the other comments are not visible but the are actually there. What you probably don't notice is that there is a side scrollbar at the bottom which the red arrow in the visual is pointing at in the image below.

When you scroll horizontally, the other comments will appear. There is also a vertical scroll (arrowed in yellow) in case you want to scroll upwards.

If you don't see the scrollers, then your explorer is probably outdated but all the same if you click on the space and move the arrow buttons on your keyboard, the comment segment will scroll.

Answering to the Random Tagging

Okay, so Standtall tagged me and I promised to respond. So here are the random things about me. I actually had done it and was about to post it as Things you won’t believe about me. But it don't matter. Its the same thing. So here goes...

1. I don’t watch football.
Yeah! And when I say this most look at me in a funny way and think I’m weird just because I don’t dig what every other guy likes. Duh!
The reason is simple…as long as I gain nothing except a sore throat from screaming at players goofing on the field, then it aint worth it. What even sickens me the most is the fact that over here in Nigeria, we have people who are fans of foreign football teams like Arsenal, Manchester United, Chelsea etc. but no one will claim to be a fan of our own Eyimba football club and the likes. Apart from watching Nigeria in International tournaments, I don’t watch anything else about ball.

2. I’m not ‘shooking’ till we’re married.
That’s true. I don’t believe sex is the true expression of love and besides I feel it’s wrong to even do it b4 marriage. I believe that any guy that can’t hold his zip up till he ties the knot is still a boy and not a man. Yeah, I know some of you will think I’m nuts reserving sex till marriage but know this, its only strong and determined people that can hold out like that. Besides that, I always make sure my woman and I never get into a circumstance that will make us to do it. We’ve faced temptation many times but we always find a way to fight it. To me, that’s a way of respecting my God who has laid it as a law in the Bible and a way of respecting my fiancée too.

3. I dislike huge nigerian wedding ceremonies
Yes I do with a passion! All the ‘aso ebi’ thingy and flamboyant spending and spraying of money on people. What in the world?? Ugh! I believe the wedding should be a brief ceremony with just modest celebration, not a carnival! The bigness of the wedding doesn’t determine that a marriage will last. That’s why I’ve decided not to let anybody push me into what the nature of my wedding should be. After all, the size of my wedding won’t be in my resume, will it? And the funniest thing is that after the whole thing, it’s forgotten. I can’t even stress how bad the money spraying habit is. I think huge weddings (especially when you struggle to do one that eats your pocket) are just a sorry excuse to throw a big party and ‘show dem say you sabi.’ Sorry if I’m bursting someone’s bubble.

4. I don’t believe in Visa Lottery
I just feel it’s another form of slavery. It’s what’s been responsible for taking away most of the brains from Nigeria and Africa. Bad enough, we all get to be second class citizens when we get there.
I’d rather just travel abroad for better education and come back here to explore the endless opportunities which the many Asians are seeing but Nigerians are failing to see. I’ve discovered some of the secrets to these opportunities and I’m gonna tap into it.
Visa Lottery is just awoof that will scatter belle.

5. Success is in how I’ve touched lives, not how many houses and cars I have.
It’s a common thing among Nigerians here. A man hits big money (mostly illegal) and uses cars to decorate his compound and builds houses in high brow areas with ‘prison walls’ to show the world that he has ‘arrived’. He doesn’t know he’s just displaying his low self-esteem. One of them occupying our seats of power once made a stupid comment some years back that mobile phones were not for poor people. Today, everybody, including the poor are mobile!

6.I have beef for Nollywood

The average Nigerian movie is downright predictable, stereotypical, occasionally senseless, lacking in suspense and creativity and negligent in details. Apart from classic Nigerian movies that were produced by Nigerian producers/directors with foreign exposure and expertise, I can never be found accidentally spending my money buying a Naija movie. Most of the culprits are the English movies. The Yoruba movies are not doing bad though they are still affected. The most annoying is the term ‘Nollywood’. Where did it come from? It’s nothing but a copycat! It’s just an intangible entity unlike Hollywood which is also location in itself. It’s no wonder it’s hard for original stuff to come out of the industry.

I'm tagging Ollay, Charizard, Pamela, and Archiwiz. So you guys get cracking!

The Gaping Maw

It was like 12 years ago when I paid a visit to the dentist to have one of my molars filled. I had a nasty sweet tooth and was finally getting to 'reap the benefits'of my obsession. I had awoken in the middle of the night groaning in pain, waking up the entire household. My parents had rushed me off to the dentist the moment it was morning and the dentist had resumed at the hospital.

If you've ever been to the dentist to have a screwed up tooth drilled with a small drilling machine in order to clean out the decay and make room for proper filling, you can understand what I mean when I say, it was a nightmare I never wanted to experience again.

As the the dentist drilled my rotten molar, I screamed in horror as unspeakable pain ricochetted through my entire body. Mum held me and assured me it was gonna be alrite.

I was like WT?? Alrite? This dude is drilling me to death!

As the drill bit deeper into my molar, I percieved the smell of granite, it was the smell of hot friction against my tooth as it chipped away under the intensity of the dental drill. I screamed like a banshee, the nurse and my Mum held me down tight. I sweated profusely like a condemed criminal. I thought I was gonna die.

Eventually the dentist stopped drilling, got me to rinse my mouth and proceeded to fill up the gap in my tooth. I promised myself I'd never get into a dentist chair again.

Wrong!!

12 years later the same tooth started acting up. I was like 'aw hell no!' But hell yeah I needed to go get my choppers checked.

The dentist was a nice middle aged lady. I thought because she was nice I would have it easy on my dentals. She examined me and discovered the tooth had cracked and some it had broken off (Now I know why I thought there was stone in my rice!). She did a temporary fill, then instructed me to come back in a few weeks but if it begun to pain me I should come down immediately.

A week passed. Two weeks, then the pain came. I dismissed it as just a healing process thingy until it became excruciating and kept me awake all night. The next morning I took off for the dentist from the office on permission. The tooth had no choice but to be removed.

My dentist, the nice lady got me seated in the comfortable dentists chair. somewhere inside me, the dread began to mount again. She's gonna dis-tooth me. Won't it be painful? I had heard from others that there would be anasthetics to dull the pain and that's what chilled me a bit.

She injected my gums with anasthetics and I relaxed as my mouth-flesh went limp. My dentist is a nice lady so I thought she would do it gently on me.

Wrong!!

I almost screamed when she picked something that looked like an ice pick and began to break the base of my tooth. It was so intense that I accidentally bit her finger.

I almost fainted when she picked up something that looked like a plier.
I close my eyes and practically went half dead as she yanked my skull and pried to and fro. I was still waiting for more terrible episodes when I was told it was over. I gasped in relief, my mouth region still half-dead and feeling like Sylvester Stallone's face. It felt so good to over the whole nasty toothy affair. But I felt strange; I now had a gaping maw which I had to adapt to for the next four weeks before I had a replacement. It was like being disabled, I could only eat unpleasantly with one side of my mouth for the next few days.

Word to y'all - take good care of ur frigging dentals! After my experience I understood the full meaning of 'Prevention is better than cure'!

PS. I'll soon be posting my own 'random things about me' as posted by Standtall who 'tagged' me to do my own version. Haven't forgotten!
